Anti-Flag Cancel Tour
WORDS: Yasmin Begum (Sprout Editorial Group)
On Wednesday 4 March Anti-Flag played a gig at Norwich's University Of East Anglia, sharing a bill with hip-hop group The Flobots and melodic punk rockers, Rise Against.
Lead man Justin Sane stage dived into the crowd, but fell in an awkward position which subesquently led to him breaking his collar bone.
Anti-Flag, a punk band from Pittsburgh, Pensylvannia, have often attracted controversy for their outspoken approach on such issues as eating meat and their signing to major record label RCA earnt them taunts of 'sell out' from many fans.
The message on the website explained their various reasons for the cancelling of the rest of the tour; it appears that Justin's broken bone was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Guitarist Chris Head had to fly home from Glasgow due to a death in the family, Pat Thetic (drums) sustains three broken ribs he started the tour with. The band remarked that, "It's obvious the UK is trying to kill us".
However, Anti-Flag fans, do not fret, as it also mentioned that: "We'll reschedule it all, you may have won the battle but we WILL WIN the war".
The King Blues, a reggae ska band from London, have taken Anti-Flag's place on the tour. Rumour on the street is that the crowd were unappreciative of the band's music; when Sane stagedived they all moved out of the way... ouch, that's got to hurt.
