  • The infamous MySpace angle
  • Tut tut...

An end of an era: 2005-2010.

Where did all the time go?

It seems like I am the only person in my entire year group to fully detest school.

Sentimental people are currently waving cameras and tears with goodbyes, YouTube videos made with the world's most awful video editing programme (Microsoft Movie) with crap music like Brand New with pictures of everyone.

Please sign my jumper, I will miss you, please sign my everything and take photos of me at strange MySpace angles so that we can upload them on FB and spam everyone's newsfeeds. . . I am going to vomit.

High school, eh? So it was all glory and happiness? Laughs and smiles? I remember bullying the new kids, kids throwing chairs and cursing at teachers. Throwing things at younger people and crowds gathering to, in turn, chase one child around the school campus whilst chanting “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!”

People who were simultaneously nice and actual horrible d*cks to people. Your friends throwing parties and in turn, not actually inviting you but waking up to find everyone else tagged. Rumours about who did what with who where . . . sexually, of course, then their business getting posted all over the internet and school on the Monday.

It is so wrong that there are people in my year group who I know so much about, like what they did with who-they-were-going-out-with... but never actually had a proper conversation with. People who got "slag" as their nickname and getting shunned in the lunch queue. Yes. The Lunch Queue. That was a bad burn if ever you did see one. Kids who got bullied so badly they were either put into hospital or even had to leave.

There was this girl nobody liked because she was essentially posh and so far up her. . . this will get vulgar, so I'm going to leave it there. With those three dots think of the most horrible thing you can, and then think of it; bam, you got her. Anyway, nobody liked her, she got drunk and upset at a party, somebody threw a bucket of vomit and urine over her and took a picture. This was used as the group picture for essentially a cyber bullying online Facebook group.

It got around one hundred and fifty members.

Yeah, these are the sort of kids we're dealing with. Malicious, to say the least. Uncontrollable and bordering on wild, I feel sorry for the parents who spent so much on bringing them up only to find their spawn are only good for running up colossal phone bills and acting inappropriately towards members of their sex.

This one kid I know ran up a three hundred pound phone bill, he's a right wannabe gangsta. He cannot get over the fact that he doesn't live in South Central LA. Ironic thing is both his parents are doctors, his house is massive. . . anyway, moving swiftly on.

It was as if I lived five years of my life trapped in a zoo, a classroom for a cage, a canteen for a feed and a whole lot of hormones once we hit around twelve. Seriously, some of the children should have been behind bars. Fifteen was the worst year, that's the year when most of us found alcohol and therefore the worst rumours were started!

I've met around thirty people I feel close to and consider a friend in my year group, despite all of them being on my Fb as 'online friends'. Thirty out of two hundred and fifty. What's the math on that after five years? Thirty are pure gold, people who I'd love to stay in touch with and whatnot, but I guess high school, for many of us, was the first taste of reality. The taste of reality that told us yeah, most people are utter idiots who we will hate, but we will meet people with whom we feel and share an intense bond with.

Needless to say on Friday, most of me was happy to move on to pastures new in college as opposed to my school's sixth form. But a small part will miss the familiarity and the friends I've made over the years.

Only a small part.
