WORDS: Yasmin Begum (Sprout Edtorial Group)

Since the start of 2009, I've been rather a happy chappy.

I've been a bit of a music geek as the winter months have progressed, spending most weekends with my computer listening to new music.

I discovered a lot of school bands, like Captain Hotknives and Modest Mouse, courtsey of my friend Josh.

Someone else I know, a die hard nu-rave fan, recently linked me to a new Enter Shikari song.

I clicked, interested to see what they've been up to since the "SORRY YA NOTTT... A WINNERRR WITH THE AIRRR SOO COLLDDD" etc (clap if you must), and to honestly see whether or not they had progressed as a band.

I always knew Enter Shikari were terrible, although I did harbour a liking for them when I was younger. I grimace and blush a crimson colour when I remember going to see them live.

The only people I knew that listened to them were the boys in my year and the year above who wore their sister's black nail polish and tight jeans with ridiculous t-shirts saying things like MEGA LOLZ!!!.

Stereotype much? Still goes on today!

Dubstep meets electro-screamo. "No, Mum, **** you, I'm going out to Teen Spirit tonight!" crossed with something unholy. Someone doing incredibly bad things to King Tubby or Lee Scratch Perry and playing it over their own music.

Why do they insist on playing their melodies on children's Fisher Price toys?

Leave ES well alone, their sell-by date has definitely arrived. I don't mean to be a music snob, honest!
