More Than A Jobsfair

Well head on down to City Hall today (Thursday April 21st), as more than 500 will be available. No, you’re not going to be shanghaied and wake up on a ship where you’ll spend your days gutting fish or – even worse – find yourself on a cruise ship where the only entertainment is Jim Davidson.
No, between 10am and 3pm there’s an event called More Than a Jobsfair. It’s organised by Cardiff Council’s Local Training & Enterprise team with Jobcentre Plus and will provide a chance for young people to find out about the vast variety of job opportunities in the hospitality, catering and call centre sectors.
As well as the bounty of jobs there’ll be talks, CV workshops and even psychometric testing. More Than a Jobfair 2010 had great success in putting local people in to jobs and this year’s is set to be even better with even more companies attending, including Hilton, Park Inn, Radisson Blu, Admiral, British Gas, Costa Coffee, Harvesters Restaurants, J.D. Wetherspoon, New Look, Pizza Hut, Tiger Tiger, Wales Millennium Centre, and many more.
The event is free to attend, why not pop down? At least Jim Davidson won’t be there.
