Cardiff bin news time!
From Monday 12th September 2011, the way waste and recycling is collected in Cardiff will change forever. Instead of weekly black bag collections and fortnightly green bag collection, they're going to flip-reverse it with black bags going fortnightly and recycling collections weekly.
But there's no need to worry about smelly bins full of leftovers stinking out your kitchen as Mr Caddy Man is spreading his brown boxy influence across the city. Never met Mr Caddy Man? Well thankfully he's nothing to do with The Candy Man; instead he's a brown kerbside caddy that'll be collected weekly. Fill him up with all the raw and cooked food that you don't want and pop him on the kerb once a week. Not only will this help reduce landfill waste but it can be used for fertiliser and will help the fight against seagulls and other vermin as they're sealed boxes rather than bags that can be pecked through. One of the things that can't go in Mr Caddy is nappies and the like, but neither do you have to keep two weeks' worth of doo-doo in your house. Starting on the 12th the council will be starting special hygiene collections although you do have to apply for them. Click here for details and forms.

Great article! I'm just annoyed that they're changing the dates of collection and everything else.... I think it's perfectly fine the way it is if I'm honest.
