  • We Are DEMO

Akron is an industrial town in Ohio.
Umm…
It has produced many things. It is known as Rubber City, due to the Goodyear Tyre Factory.
I don’t think…
But forget tires,
Finally!
Akron’s finest export are the seminal post-punk/new-wave pranksters Devo.

No, now listen to me; you’ve got the wrong end of the stick.
I’m sorry?
You’re meant to be talking about DEMO.
What? In the email it said to write about DEVO?
Codswallop. It said DEMO.
I’m sure it said DEVO. What the douche is DEMO anyway?
It’s a community arts festival happening in St David’s Hall in October.
Why would I be writing about that?

Because theSprout has a whole room to itself there. And I told you to write about it.
I’ll check my emails, but I have a Freedom Of Choice to write about what I like.
You do that… you’ll find it says that DEMO is happening on Saturday 2nd October, 10am -5pm
Gah! My laptop is playing up, I wish I was a Secret Agent Man and had a superfast computer.
Quite. You’ll also find it says that there’s a whole host of activities happening across the day including a recycled jewellery workshop by the Makers Guild in Wales and MCing, graffiti art and drama workshops by Cardiff Council’s Youth Service.
Yeah well I’m Through Being Cool.
Are you sure? There’s also singing, hand drumming and percussion workshops organised by Community Music Wales and as I said earlier, we’ll be there.
That’s Good!

Yeah and we’ve got big plans for our bit.
I bet you do, the competition must Be Stiff.
We’re gonna have a mini-cinema there, showing films made by local auteurs. In fact we’re looking for more films, so if you’ve got some work floating around on youtube or sat on your hard-drive or know someone who does then please comment below. Do you make films?
Nah, sounds tough, like Working In A Coalmine.
Whatever Trevor. Did I mention that SWICA are reviving their Dragon performance for the event and that NoFitState Circus, Black Voluntary Sector Network Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre will also be doing stuff there?

That sounds like a Big Mess.
Screw you!
Oh Come Back Jonee! I’m sorry, it sounds like an awesome day.
My name isn’t Jonee. Look, are you coming?
Of course. Hey, can I bring my dog? I’ve got a whippet.
St. David’s Hall operates a no dogs policy except for guide dogs I’m afraid.
Hmmm I’m sure I can sneak Brucey through those Gates Of Steel.
OK… Oh before I forget, we’re also looking for Fresh ideas for things we can do on the day besides the cinema. Again, comment below…

I'll just have a Peek-A-Boo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue_fIIfqVKg) at the press release. Nope, it's an all welcome/"fun for all the family" kind of thing.

Rhywbeth i ddweud?
