Careers Wales Cardiff and Vale : Youth Gateway Services
Youth Gateway is aimed at young people aged 16-18 who have left school and need help with their next steps, whether it’s finding a job, applying for work-based training or returning to education.
We provide free information and advice for young people on careers, qualifications, courses, training, applying for jobs, preparing for interviews and self employment. We hold vacancy information on jobs and training opportunities for school and college leavers and can give them extra support through Youth Gateway. Use computers free of charge at our centres to access careers information and relevant websites. We have recently introduced a ‘"A Healthy Mind Worker, (Registered Nurse MH)" from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Cwm Taf LHB” who will work with all young people 16 – 18 referred who need support with their mental health or emotional well being. This service is open to all young people in Cardiff. In addition we will also be hosting Housing Options and a social worker to complement our Youth Gateway 14 -19 and our Learning Coach team.
