Gôl Football Centre

Gôl Football Centre

Target Group: N/A

Based in Cardiff, Gôl is Wales´ first purpose-built football facility. It has ten outdoor 5-a-side courts and Cardiff´s only 7-a-side pitch - all of which are floodlit. There is a clubhouse with changing rooms, hot showers and a licensed bar showing live matches on LCD and Plasma screens. The complex also has ample car parking covered by CCTV.

Gôl has installed revolutionary pitches using a rubber crumb infill. The pitches look, feel and play like natural turf but without the disadvantages of getting waterlogged when wet or rutted when dry. Forget the problems you´ve had on other artificial surfaces - this is SOCCER TURF.

You can play regularly at the centre through joining our leagues or taking out a block booking. Pitches are also available for occasional hire, one-day tournaments and competitions, children´s parties and soccer schools on Saturday mornings and during school holidays.

Voluntary Community Service

Target Group: N/A

Voluntary Community Service came into being in 1964 and is the volunteer bureau serving the city of Cardiff.

The aims of VCS are to promote volunteering and support volunteers so that voluntary work proves a happy and rewarding experience for those engaged in it. VCS encourages volunteering by all sections of the community and supports a policy that everybody has something to offer and is able to become a valued volunteer.

The office is situated in the centre of Cardiff. There are over 350 voluntary organisations registered with the bureau offering volunteers experience in areas such as youth work, mental health, disability, older people, advice lines, environmental projects, administration and community work.

People who would like to become volunteers but are unable to visit the office due to disability or work commitments are offered the services of an Outreach Worker who will visit them at a time and place which is convenient to them.

All members of staff have personal experience of volunteering and are happy to talk to individuals who may be unsure where their particular interests lie.
