The award is a challenging programme of activities, which help young people to learn new skills, to help others, to experience adventure and to give a great sense of achievement. Many organisations, such as employers and Universities take a good view of the Award and what it says about the person who has achieved it. There are 3 levels and for each you complete activities in Service, Skills, Physical Recreation and Expeditions. In each section there is a wide range of options to choose from or you can find similar activities, which interest you. The Award is about having a go. It's not a competition, you just need a bit of enterprise and perseverance.

Llanrumney youth centre’s facilities include a games hall, computer room, music room, photography dark room, coffee bar, social area, kitchen and a general purpose area for arts and crafts and workshops. Safer Wales Restart has two projects for young people age 10-25. These are the Restart Bus and the Riverside Warehouse. We also run a personal development programme called Less Stress which helps young people to understand their feelings and develop a positive attitude to life. The Restart Bus is a mobile youth centre with games, computers, music and tuck shops. The Riverside Warehouse provides a safe and supportive place for young people to meet and socialise, take part in different activities (music, cookery, sport, arts and crafts, pool, homework club, computers, games and activities) and find out more about some of the opportunities that are available for young people to make a difference in their local community and globally.
