Copland Appalachian Spring
Simple, strong and humble, Copland’s Appalachian Spring is one of the most quintessential of all American works. It is heard next to the frothy high spirits of Poulenc’s Concert Champêtre.
Anthony Powers’ commission Terrain premiered in 1993. It is an evocation of the terrain as seen from the Welsh borders - the Black mountains on one side and the Golden Valley on the other.
