Be Part Of The 2012 Olympics
The 2012 Olympics are not just about London. With events such as football and sailing happening outside London and teams using training facilities and accommodation across the country, the Olympic Games involves the whole of the UK.
Cardiff has developed a worldwide reputation as a city of sport and as such not only will Cardiff will host the first event of the Olympic Games (Women's Football on 25th July - a couple of days before the opening ceremony!) but also teams from across the globe are planning on staying and training here, such as Olympians and Paralympians from Australia, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago amongst others.
And you could be involved! With all this Olympic activity in the city comes the opportunity of volunteering and rubbing shoulders (and maybe strained calves… probably not, thinking about it they'll have physiotherapists for stuff like that surely?) with Olympic stars. Sport.Cardiff are on the hunt for “Ambassadors” (that's what they're calling volunteers) to represent Cardiff and help athletes and spectators during their stay in our city.
So if you’re enthusiastic, can attend a couple of training days and can spare a minimum of five days across July and August then click here and sign up! You can then tell people that you are taking part in the Olympics, how cool is that?
