Catastrophe In Colombia

  • Colombia Floods

This was something that was brought to my attention by one of my friends so I wanted to share the news.

Colombia is not as well-known as Japan, as you guys may have noticed, but it's also in a lot of trouble. 28 out of 32 states are flooded because of constant rain since September last year. People suffer from hunger and cold. There's the grave risk of landslides.

The government has not got enough money and so people living in risk zones (like North Santander) can’t go anywhere. Thousands upon thousands of people have lost their homes and their families.

Whole streets have disappeared. It is very difficult to gain access to the affected areas. Schools have been consumed by landslides; a few days ago some kids had to have class in the cafeteria because their classroom's ceiling just fell down.

And it keeps raining.

Last week they had no drinking water or internet and the power failed too.

Thank you again, rain.
