Comp: Design A T-Shirt
On Monday 25th June 2012, St David’s Hall in Cardiff becomes the main focus for the annual celebration of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) culture in Wales.
A free event for all ages (public and schools alike) combines history and art, theatre and dance. Performances by children and adults will be designed to challenge, teach and celebrate!
This event will raise awareness; promote good relationships between GRT communities and the settled community whilst enhancing self-esteem and well-being.
A Design a T-Shirt competition is being organised and is open to all Primary schools in South Wales to publicise the celebration events.
The t-shirts will being judged at a local Primary school in Cardiff by Julie Morgan AM, Councillor Judith Woodman, Isaac Blake – Director of the Romani Cultural and Arts Company and Carol Lewis Co-ordinator of Cardiff Traveller Education Service on 9th March 2012.
All the entries will be on display at St David's Hall in Cardiff for one week in June 2012. All entries must be returned to the Romani Cultural and Arts Company office by Friday 2nd March 2012.
The winning T-shirt design will be produced professionally and the winners will be invited to receive their prizes at the Gala event on 25th June 2012.
