A young film-maker at the University of Glamorgan has found a novel way of getting viewers for one of his projects, by simply popping it through people’s letterboxes.

Well, not quite. James Koash’s project is a DVD featuring videos from six community-led projects in the Ely and Caerau districts of Cardiff. Each video focusses on a particular group and explains the work that they do. It is being distributed to households throughout Ely and Caerau with the winter edition of the Ely Grapevine, a newsletter which has been produced by local residents for over thirty years.

The videos include information on dealing with loan sharks, a rap video about the Never Give Up project and the recent makeover of the old Caerau library.

It’s hoped that up to thirty thousand people will watch the DVD, have you seen it? Comment below if you have.
