Face The Pros For Kyle's Goal
"If only I got to play on a perfect pitch, one free of bobbles and dog poo. If only I bought the £200 boots, not scrimped and got the £150 ones. If I played in a shirt with my name on the back of it instead of one with half the number peeling off, then I would have made it. I could have been a contender. I could have been a pro!"
Oh the whittlings of the disillusioned Sunday League striker in the pub after another afternoon of shanked shots. What could have been? Well some form of answer can be attained on the 28th of March at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium (that’s the new running track in Leckwith, the one what swapped sides of the road for Cardiff City).
For on that day and in that venue, a charity match is set to kick off at 2pm.
Raising money for Kyle’s Goal, a charity to raise money for the treatment of a young man suffering from an arteriovenous malfunction of the brain, a team of ex-Cardiff City players will take on Kyle’s Goal Charity XI, a team made up of the 16 highest bidders partaking in this auction (the closing date for bids is March 1st).
Even if you’ve long since hung up your boots, you can still support the event by cheering from the stands; tickets are available from here.
