Flooded Eyes Again
Those sad brown eyes,
Flooded with tears of sorrow,
The lonely child,
Abandoned for all those years,
The heartbreak that will never be unbroken,
The bond that can never be repaired,
Bridges that are too broken.
A second chance came but you lost out,
Will you ever know how much I hurt?
All the emotions now run free,
My mind now fresh and cleared,
I pour out my heart,
I pour out my soul.
As I write this poem,
My eyes begin to sting,
Tears drip unchecked down my cheeks,
The new year will be different,
No more tears and sadness,
The floodgates are open now.
I finally let go of my heartache,
Because right now I just don’t care,
You let me down one too many times,
And now you have a price to pay,
By not being allowed to come near and stay.
