The angry tweet. The protest groups of facebook. That strange bloke with the megaphone in Queen Street.

It's hard to get your voice heard. We're given these platforms to express our views but all too often they're drowned in a sea of LOLs and pictures of cats. Heck even a million people of the streets of London weren't listened to over the Iraq war.

And it's even harder for those denied the right to vote. I'm talking about young people. The ad-men may want our money, but nobody wants our views.

That's where U-Share offers a solution. U-Share is a collective of groups and forums across Cardiff. It can reach inside the corridors of power, as it is backed by the Cardiff's Children and Young People's Partnership, which has influence in lots of local and national authorities.

It exists to improve every community in Cardiff, through dialogue and sharing ideas with young people. But it needs you. U-Share have decided it doesn't cover every group in Cardiff and it needs more voices to make it stronger, more representative and more diverse.

So they're holding a recruitment day on July 26th in Grassroots, Charles Street. It's a chance to meet current members of U-Share, get some info on its workings and also grab some free lunch.

If you feel that the powers that be aren't listening to you over matters that concern and affect you and if you're committed and in it for the long-term, then U-Share want to give you a platform for your voice to be heard.

To attend, drop an email to KThomas@cardiff.gov.uk by the 22nd.
