Fund available for UK groups and individuals with ground-breaking ideas for solving problems facing young people

An idea isn't always enough to make a difference.  You need help to put that idea into action, and one of the best ways to kick-start a groundbreaking idea is with funding.

This is why theSprout is pleased to report that a foundation for young people can give you the chance to receive funding up to £30,000.  If you feel you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur ? or if you are part of an organisation with an ability to think outside the box ? read on to find out how you could qualify for a serious cash injection.

Learning Launchpad is a fund for ambitious people who have a passion to make a difference.

Their goal is to discover and support groundbreaking ideas that will raise the aspirations and release the potential of young people aged 14-25 in their transition to adulthood.

Learning Launchpad innovate organisations to grow, and help new ideas get off the ground, through a combination of financial investment and tailored support.  Created by the Launchpad at the Young Foundation, in partnership with the independent education foundation Edge, they are looking for ideas that help young people reach beyond academic paths to success, encourage learning-by-doing, and develop their non-cognitive "soft" skills through real-world experience.  Therefore, it seeks to support projects that do not have traditional academic learning routes as their focus.

They care about making a lasting difference and we know that the opportunities to do this can take many different forms.  So if you meet the criteria, the fund is open to you, whether you are an individual, a team or an early-stage organisation; and whether you are a charity, a for-profit business or a social enterprise.

Unrestricted funding of up to £30,000 is available.  Normally, investments take the form of a loan, an equity stake, or a 'revenue participation agreement' (where a small proportion of the organisation's revenue is taken).

The next application deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 15th July 2009.
