Get Ready For ‘STRAWBERRY FEVER’!!!
The days are getting warmer, the evenings lighter; summer is officially on its way which means the countdown to the Cardiff Festival has begun!
For the 25th time, the Cardiff Festival is in town!!! With over 20 events including the Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival, the Admiral Cardiff Big Weekend and, new this year, Picnic In The Castle, supported by Brace’s Bread.
From July 1st until September 4th, ‘Strawberry Fever’ will take over the city in a family-friendly manner. Some events will also be free!
The Admiral Cardiff Big Weekend, Wow on the Waterfront, Cardiff Mas Carnival, Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival and Cardiff Harbour Festival are just some of the free events that can be enjoyed by all the family.
This year, the festival will be made up of old favourites and new adventures. Do you think Cardiff is ready to get all shook up? Find out at the Elvis Tribute Artist World Cup! For the very first time, the Cardiff Wales LGBT Mardi Gras becomes a part of the festival.
The newly opened Cardiff International White Water, in the International Sports Village, will play host to a ‘Rock N Raft’ night. where you can listen to live music while you're white water rafting in a rare experience!
Executive Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells, said “Summer is just not summer in Cardiff without the Cardiff Festival and the famous red strawberries appearing around the city.”
A full programme of events is once again planned and it’s great to see old favourites returning alongside new.
