I thought I'd help promote this artist I've been listening to for years, because I think, as singer-songwriters go, he's got a huge amount of talent and deserves to be noticed by as many music fans and record labels as possible.

He so deserved to do well, and now he really has; Greg Holden is Lancashire-bred acoustic singer-songwriter. On the 30th August last year the bloke was playing a set in my living room as part of his Living Room Tour 2009. Now he's living it up in NYC on the music scene, and from what it looks like, is on the cusp of making a killing. I've been following him via YouTube on his journey to fame (including his tour with Ingrid Michaelson) for a while now, as a member of his ever-growing YouTube fanbase, to whom he's very committed to for their support. Raw 'acoustica' meets honest lyrics, it's difficult to dislike Greg.

Simple but emotive, charming and catchy, his live recordings on YouTube prove even more moving than the studio recordings on his 2009 album release, A Word In Edgeways (available on Spotify, though you must listen to the live YouTube recordings first). He's also released an EP called Sing For The City containing more songs about his love for the Big Apple.

There're a whole two series of videos on YouTube ('The Living Room Series' and 'The Not My Living Room Series') plus more, including covers. Here are a few of his best;

The Not My Living Room Series- part 20
