John Hughes, director of The Breakfast Club and Uncle Buck, has died following heart attack.?
The 59 year old collapsed whilst strolling in Manhattan where he was visiting his family.?
Hughes’ films brought a new generation of fresh-faced teens such as Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall and Matthew Broderick.
Hughes is probably best known for turning Macaulay Culkin into a star when he starred in Home Alone, which the director wrote and produced in 1990.?
John Hughes also worked with Molly Ringwald on Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and in 1986, Pretty In Pink.?
Over the past ten years, Hughes turned his back on Hollywood and directing and became a farmer in the mid-west.?
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, two sons and four grandsons. He will be sadly missed.
