Young people at Cathays High School gave their opinions on how Cardiff could be improved for young people:

"I would build more places for young people to go on the weekends?.maybe a youth club or a place you can get to get help with homework or meet friends. Also children should be allowed on buses for free, especially on weekends. There should also be more gigs for under and above fourteen year olds in Barfly and Clwb Ifor Bach etc.? This would change the amount of young people hanging around the streets of Cardiff, and would also get them out of trouble." - Abbie Strong

"More musical events for kids.? More opportunities to learn to play musical instruments.? Places where kids can have gigs. Wednesdays off school!? Metallica/ Megadeth gigs for kids.? People shouldn’t get beaten up for being moshers or emos.? You get to choose your subjects in school sooner.? Better shapes of guitar in ? sizes." - Joshua Dickins

"More free sports, more parks, no R.E in school, more dog’s then cat’s, new sports, street racing (to watch), learning how to fix things like cars in school. More school trips, comedians for kid’s, more game shops." -? Joshua Morgan

"I think we would improve Cardiff for young people by having a theme park because we have to go to another town like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. We should make Cardiff City Centre much bigger because it’s really crowded. There should be more shops and more choices of clothing. There should be more cinemas because there are only three cinemas in Cardiff! There should be more fun places, and more games in Mega bowl! I think that there should be more concerts, because we need celebrities to come to us!! I also think that we should have more youth clubs and more fun in lessons, like for science - we could go outside for lessons, maybe young children will want to come to school then and won’t mitch." -? Ella

"More skate parks, more alternative music events, more fun involved with lessons in school, more school trips, wider range of music in music lessons.? No TV licensing tax for anyone, internet sites at schools don’t get banned, PC gaming forum online." -? Jake ?

"I would change the way young people are talked about.? Everybody says that young people are violent and carry knives!" -? Jessica

"I would make a lot of changes in Cardiff, because I would like it to be more like London. I think London is better than Cardiff at the moment because it has more stuff, bigger shopping centres and many celebrities live there and many people go there.?I wish that Cardiff would become even better than London. I would make changes to schools uniform that children wear in Cardiff?and have more tourist attractions." -?Pardis
