ITV HD Screen Two Howlers
I’m sure a lot of people tuned in to watch the England v USA World Cup match on Saturday night.
My dad and I sure did.
It was great to start; we were just about getting into the game when the channel abruptly changed over to adverts. I wasn’t too surprised to begin with; I mean it happens all the time right?
Someone working in the studio accidentally sat on the advert button and he’ll change it back straight away, or that’s what I thought. We sat in anticipation for the game to come back on, waiting past the stupid car adverts that interrupted what we were watching.
And as soon as it came back on England had scored.
Did it happen to you?
We were so annoyed! I don’t usually watch football but the World Cup, England’s first World Cup game of the tournament, seemed like something worth watching. And after just five minutes of play and a twenty second interruption of adverts England scored, and we missed it.
I hope someone gets sacked for that.
The apologies for the mistake only came at half time but we doubted they even realised what they had “interrupted” in the first place, they said it had happened to HD Subscribers so I’m sure a lot of you actually got to see the goal.
The game after that was okay, England didn’t play bad. We were just a little more annoyed at Green’s howler, USA shouldn’t have scored!
After that I lost a little interest, after missing England’s only goal of the match I suspected the worse for them, but in the end a draw is better than a loss, no?
I just hope they play better in their next match against Algeria and the ITV producers don’t mess it up again! Sigh... I’m sounding like a football obsessed girl now. Oh well, the World Cup’s important right!?
We waited four years for it, England better win!

Haha. I was watching on regular ITV and was treated to Adrian Chiles apologising exclusively to the HD viewers. As my friend pointed out, surely a reason not to buy into HD! Looking forward to the next games though, bring it on!

What a way to ruin the dang game, both howlers that is. If it's not the man who presses the advert button who's goning to get fired it's going to be Green xD Let's hope England do better than that next time! :P
