Journalists Needed
The Iris Prize Festival, Cardiff’s International Gay and Lesbian Short Film Festival, returns in October 2011, Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th to be exact.
And while it continues to be open to the public and continues to fund and develop short films from across the world, there’s an extra special reason that you should pay attention to this year’s festivities.
IrisTV, the official production arm of the festival has teamed up with Stonewall Cymru to provide an excellent opportunity for budding journalists in Wales.
They’re looking for 8 young people (preferably 18-25 and LGB) to work as assistant journalists before and during the festival. You’ll be charged with making innovative and interesting video content to be shown at Chapter and Cineworld (the venues for Iris Prize Festival 2011) and online at IrisTV.
So if you’re able to show:
- Experience of pre-production, production and post-production
- Experience of community engagement
- Experience of engagement with the LGB community
Then this could be your foot on the ladder. Welsh speakers are actively encouraged to apply as there will be two groups of people conducting the course, one through the medium of Welsh, the other through the medium of English.
So if this sounds like you and you’re free on Thursday 25th August and September 9th then click here for the full personal specification and more info on the festival and here for the application form.
You need to hurry though as the deadline is Monday 8th August. If you need any more details please email Berwyn Rowlands - berwyn@irisprize.org and good luck!
