La Roux

The singer La Roux has swept to the top of the charts with her singles Bulletproof and In For The Kill and has certainly made an impact on the public.

Her indie style has created much publicity for herself as she made a bold impact with her singing style and choice of wardrobe. Her lack of makeup makes her seem different from the usual singers of her genre. 

If she was a stereotypical pop singer with a pot of makeup slapped on her face and a huge mob of back-up singers to cover her voice then I wouldn't like her very much or even be writing a review about her, but it's her individuality and amazing songs that make her so appealing. 

I first heard about La Roux when I could hear the faint murmur of In For The Kill on the radio, something about the song got stuck in my head and I've loved her ever since.

Although some of you might think she is only a "fake" singer that has been recorded and overproduced then you’re wrong, in fact La Roux can sing her style quite well live, as you can hear here. She is a little rough around the edges live, but who isn't? In fact, she might even sound better live as her voice is raw and pure. 

You definitely want to sing along too. Personally I think La Roux is a great singer with loads of talent and a great singing style.

She has had some criticism due to her individual look, but has managed to carry on going despite what people say about her. Her songs seem to appeal to half the public but push away the other and I guess if you don’t like her style of music than that’s that.... Or is it? 

Although she tends to sing the same style for some songs she does vary her singing quite a bit, for example Tigerlily is a great upbeat and loud song compared to her others, while Cover My Eyes is a much slower and soft song that also has the familiar ring that a La Roux song always has. 

For me Bulletproof, I’m Not Your Toy, Colourless Colour and In For The Kill are some of the greatest songs by La Roux and I absolutely love them!
