Are you going back to school soon? Yes? Well you’d be better off reading a poem from exactly this time last year, watching this video from Under Construction Festival or simply enjoying this lovely picture of a cat ->

For the rest of you, slither hither for I have wonderful news! September sees the return of Neighbourhood Learning Courses across Cardiff. From Wood Carving to Creative Writing, Curry Cooking to Conversational French, there are classes to satisfy all sorts of tastes and interests. Wannabe fashionista? There's a course for you! Wannabe linguist? There's a course for you! Wannabe hacker? There might be a course for you, I'm not sure, it's best to double check.

Thankfully there is a publication available to help guide you through all the possibilities. It’s called On Course and you can download a .pdf of it by clicking here. At the end of it you’ll find the application form. Any problems simply email adultlearningquery@cardiff.gov.uk. If you require more info on particular courses then check out www.cardiff.gov.uk/learn or pop into the venue where the course is taking place. All courses offer reductions for those receiving benefits and you can pay for your course in termly instalments, spreading the cost. You can pay by cash, card or cheque.

There’s such a range of course options and Neighbourhood Learning Centres across Cardiff that it may take a while to decide, but with courses filling up fast, enrol sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Now shall I do Cake Decorating for Beginners in Whitchurch or Internet Safety in Llanedeyrn?

Thanks for this! I was debating whether to take the plunge and enter the Open University, but this might be just as helpful (and far closer). :)

Well Open University is part of the Cardiff Community Learning Network so it's a win win. Just like the picture on page 6.

This was quite amusing to read.

Especially 'Wannabe hacker? There might be a course for you, I'm not sure, it's best to double check.' that made me chuckle.

I like reading things like this- it makes me want to enrol in a lot more things. Guess that's why my homework never gets done...

Got something to say?
