Review: Love The Way You Lie
The song begins with Rihanna’s voice with a simple piano backing. It instantly sets the mood of the song, sombre and regretful. She portrays the role of the physically abused and emotionally tormented and trapped girlfriend of controlling boyfriend, played perfectly by Eminem.
The many expletives in this song forced the radio edit to cut a lot of Eminem’s rapping out of the song, which is a shame because this is where a lot of the story is told. He delivers each lyric with such conviction, emotion tearing through every word, that you can’t help but be drawn into the story of domestic violence and a dysfunctional relationship. Their voices perfectly compliment each other’s.
Hardcore Eminem fans probably won’t approve of this R&B crossover, but the rest of us will enjoy this song.
The single comes out today on CD but has already reached number two in the UK singles charts on download sales alone.

@wishihadwings I was only referring to how well he 'played' his part and how talented he was, I wasn't referring to his 'bad boy' persona.
