Riddle Me This

I have comprised a series of five riddles for you to try yourself or share with your friends. Don't strain your brain to hard; the answers are at the bottom of the screen.
1) What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?
2) You can catch me, but you can't throw me. What am I?
3) What goes around the world but stays in one corner?
4) The man who invented it doesn't want it. The man who bought it doesn't need it. The man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it?
5) I appear once in a minute, not in an hour, not in a day, twice in a week, not in a fortnight, not in a month but once in a year. What am I?
Have fun trying to work them out.

Those are really good! I'd already hear 1, 2, 4 and 5 but my form tutor always gives us riddles so that's where I got the from. But 3) took me AGES and is really good! Well done (:
