"Run." He said, his back against hers,
"Run!" he repeated, losing his nerve.
He couldn't protect her,
From the oncoming hordes, so,
"Run." He said, but was never heard.

"Wait!" He called, to the approaching foes,
"Wait!" He repeated, yet still they drew close.
He couldn't defeat them,
Of that he was sure, so,
"Wait!" He called, but that's all we know.

"Kill." They chanted, drawing nearer,
"Kill." They chanted, sensing the fear,
They could see his terror,
Deep in his eyes, so,
"Kill." They chanted, their future unclear.

"Kill." He ordered, standing tall,
"Kill!" He ordered, destroying all,
She'd left him again,
She'd made him feel small, so,
"Kill!" He ordered, "You must kill them all!"

"Sorry." She whispered, about to die,
"Sorry." She whispered, as she started to fly,
Her breath was leaving,
She'd take to the skies, so,
"Sorry." She whispered, as the end drew nigh.

"No." He growled, as his plan fell apart,
"No!" He repeated, she'd ruined that part!
She was meant to beg,
She had too great a heart, so,
"Sorry." She'd whispered, and his heart fell apart.
