School is out for summer!
See, back in my day (okay, I’m not that old) we’d long for the time those six weeks would be over so we’d have something to do with our day instead of watching hideously bad daytime TV, going swimming every single day or dossing at the park.
Here's my top tips for not being bored this summer. Some of them can even go on your CV.

- The Sprout's Saturday Sessions #2 (that's called alliteration :p, see we're always educating you!)

So a few Saturdays ago a group of us met in Cardiff Central Library for the first of The Sprout's Saturday Sessions - workshops for you guys and all your mates to attend to practice your skills in writing, photography and improv. After a bit of hard work, you can gain a OCN which is a recognised qualification and v good for your CV for uni or job hunting. This Session is for photography and film making....

What?: The Sprout's Saturday Session #2

Where?: Cardiff Central Library, meeting room, 4th floor

When?: Saturday 30th July

- Cardiff Summer Learning Festival

Every year Cardiff Council organise 100s of course for young people from across Cardiff. They’re open to anyone in years 7 to 10 from high schools in Cardiff.
With loads of different opportunities different areas, there’s something to tickle any fancy. How about designing your own handbag or dancing from street to hiphop or take part in adventurous outdoor activities such as caving or waterfall walking in Porth Yr Ogof? there’s something for you and all your mates to enjoy.

What?: Cardiff Summer Learning Festival

Where?: Various across Cardiff

When?: 25th July – 12th August

- White Water Rafting

How amazing would that be!? All you need is to be over 8 years old, and with sessions from £10, how can you say no hey? I wouldn’t. I’m actually considering going. Even if I can’t swim (which I can’t). But that is what life jackets are for. There’s no experience necessary and you can do courses from one hour to 5 days.

When?: Everyday from 9am, summer offers Monday to Friday

What?: White water rafting

Where?: Cardiff International White Water, Cardiff Bay

- Cardiff MAS Festival’s Parade

Anyone sat CARN-EEE-VAL!? What a better way to celebrate the summer holidays than with a parade displaying flamboyant costumes, masks and puppets all starting down at the glorious Cardiff Bay. Follow the festivities as they begin at the Wales Millennium Centre and dance, skip and party their way to Cardiff’s Big Weekend, leading you straight to the fun fair. Yay!

What?: Cardiff MAS Festival’s Parade

Where?: Starting at the Millennium Centre, finishing at Cardiff’s Big Weekend by City Hall

When?: Leaves Cardiff Bay at 11.30am

SO! Whatcha gonna do? Tell us! Take photos, write a review, talk to us about your day – we look forward to it. And don’t forget the sunscreen.
