Dropping A Life
Danny searched his mind for answers. What to do, what to do? He could see the entrance/exit of Tyrant Street and was slowly getting enclosed from in front and behind by jocks. This is not how Danny wanted to die he thought to himself. As soon as he thought that, Danny slapped himself mentally inside his head.
"I will not die getting squished by some overweight jocks!" he shouted and ran to his left. He leaped over a picket fence, in front of a yellow cottage. Danny politely rang the doorbell and was jumping in his spot, with growing frustration. The jocks were running to him now and were throwing rocks the size of American footballs. Danny couldn't wait any longer and effortlessly kicked down the front door.
He ran down a bright hallway and into a kitchen. There was an old man in the corner, cursing at Danny and threatening him to get out of his house. The man rose but Danny had already ran out into the garden through a bland door. As Danny ran, he could hear a bucket-full of rugby players piling out of the back door, shouting.
Danny climbed a tall brick wall, taller than the jocks, and into an old garden. Danny had reached the end of the houses and in front of him was a railway track, metres above him. He could hear the jocks start to climb the wall. Without thinking it through, Danny started to climb up to the narrow track.
He was faster than the jocks and was at the top when the jocks were half way. Danny could hear the train coming, a minute away. He started to run in the other direction from were the sounds were, at his top speed. He was above a stream when the train was seconds away. If he jumped, the impact of his body into the shallow water would surely kill him. He turned around to face the jocks but they had jumped off the track and into the stream before the train had come. The train was in sight, the driver could see him but couldn't stop in time. Danny closed his eyes and clenched his fists as the train hit his body.
The minute the train hit Danny, he was dead.
