Eager-beaver Sprouters will know that next week’s Sprout Editorial Group Meeting (Thursday 27th October) is not in its usual location of Cardiff Central Library. Nope we’re not going back to Grassroots either.

For October’s Sprout Editorial Group Meeting we’re in the biggest and shoppiest of all the buildings in town, St David’s 2. To be specific we’re in the Literature Lounge; a one-month only pop-up workshop being run by the fabulous Literature Wales. It’s been open since the start of the month, but if you’re not sure where it is it’s on the ground floor of the restaurant quarter by Yo! Sushi, Cadwaladers, Boof, Pret, Bellinis and so forth.

Anyway the SEG is meeting at the usual time of 4.30pm, but we’ve also got something else sorted. Between 2pm-4pm there will be a special workshop for Sprouters on magazine journalism. There’s even guest speakers coming down, namely Dylan Moore, founding editor of The Raconteur and Marc Thomas, editor of Cardiff-based culture magazine Plastik, who’ll share their tips and techniques and answer questions on everything to do with magazines. We’ll also be doing a bit of critical writing as well. We'll then have a bit of a break and jump straight into the SEG (the minutes from last month's can be downloaded here and viewed here).

Did I mention that this was free? All you need to do is either comment below, say you’re coming on the Facebook event or email me (sam@thesprout.co.uk). C’mon it's half-term!
