Tantrum CD Launch
WORDS: Yasmin Begum (Youth Editorial Group)
You may have heard of Tantrum Records. You might know someone who's a Sicknote fan. You may have seen a poster, or received a flyer with a screaming toddler's face on. Maybe you've heard of some of their infamous free Sunday parties they host at Glo Bar or their Phone In Sick annual gig.?
Anyway, if you haven't, let us introduce them. Tantrum Records have organised and are infamous for a load of free parties in the Cardiff area such as The Blowout Festival, Tantrum Allnighter, Tantrum In The Park plus many, many more; most notably The Club With No Name. They also look after a wide range of acts such as DJ Tommy Tank, DumbAss, Sicknote, Clay Statues, Little Eris and Botoxx.
Earlier this year their label launch was a phenomenal success and they are now organising another party to take place on Sunday 16?November in a brand new 800-capacity club called Sub29 opposite central station on Wood Street. They will be showcasing?ten of their favourite bands: The Physicists, Clay Statues, DJ Tommy Tank , Dirty Revolution, Cakehole Presley, Applefish, Dan Dunne And The Reels, a special guest and Sicknote. The host will be local musician Ninjah (the bloke who plays on bins with drumsticks in town).
Entry to this is a fiver which includes a free copy of Tantrum Records' ten-track sampler with songs by all of the artists they have on their label. Entry is free for those with Swn festival wrtistbands and will be starting at 3pm and finishing at midnight.
It's only a fiver and it's a Tantrum party, with some really class local bands- what more could you ever want on a Sunday? Would you rather stay at home and watch Songs Of Praise?
