The Story You Chose - Part Two
I really should come up with a name for this. But that's besides the point! This is really becoming less of a "vote for what you want" thing and more of a "I will do what you tell me" thing, as this time, I've incorporated essences of all your suggestions into the story part. So, here we go!
The Story You Choose - Part One
Nothing particularly eventful happened in school that day. I stuck with Nicole and Izzy, and we carried on in our usual manner, messing around and trying to fend off the almost constant flow of people who have been pestering me with questions ever since I decided to tell everyone that I wasn't a boy mentally, even if I was one physically. While there's nothing wrong with curiosity, it's starting to bore me.
Since it was a Friday, Izzy had decided that the perfect thing to do would be for her, Nicole, George, Steve and I to go to a film. I didn't really want to go, but I had nothing else on, so I didn't have much of a choice.
We all met outside the cinema at ten-to-seven, ready for the film starting on the hour. I was the last to arrive, and I was greeted by what was, in my opinion, a fairly repulsive sight - Izzy and Steve, acting like a couple. I hate over the top couples. The only girl I've ever been out with (a girl Izzy set me up with before I'd told anybody what I was, and we didn't last long, for fairly obvious reasons, but that's besides the point), we did all the couple-like things people are expected to do, but only alone. She felt like I did, that relationships aren't for showing off, they're for the happiness the other person brings you.
I joined Nicole and George, who were stood awkwardly near Izzy and Steve, not wanting to ruin their "moment". "Hey!" George said, when he saw me.
"Hi, it's been a while since I've seen you! How are you?" I asked. I liked George, but he was very polite. While manners are important, he was overly polite. He was so formal, it sometimes felt like you weren't really talking to him, you were talking to who he wanted you to talk to.
"I'm very well thank you, and yourself?"
"I'm good, yeah. Are they, uh, going to be done any time soon?" I asked, gesturing to Steve and Izzy.
"I doubt it. They haven't seen each other for a whole five days! However did they survive?" Nicole said, with heavy mock horror. I laughed. At this point, Izzy and Steve joined us.
"Oh, hi, Harry... Harriet...?" Steve said, looking awkwardly at his shoes. Maybe Izzy had a word with him?
"Hi! Shall we go in?" I said. It was five minutes until the film was due to start.
There were general noises of agreement made, so we went into Screen 12, showing Toy Story 3.
The film was very good, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The only downside was it was a bit too cute for me. It led to Nicole and George nestling up together. Strangely, Izzy and Steve didn't. Izzy leaned into him, and he leaned away! I found it hard not to laugh at them.
When we walked out, Steve turned to me and said, "Do you want to walk home with me? It's the same direction, so it would be easier."
"Yeah, sure!" I replied. I was mildly suspicious, but what harm could Steve really do? He's not muscley in the slightest - in fact, Nicole used to think he was anorexic.
But something bad happened while we were walking home. We took a short-cut to our street through the back alley - he only lived down the road to me - and suddenly Steve pushed me against the wall, with his arms on either side of my shoulders. I didn't move, I had no idea what he was doing. "What are yo-" He shushed me.
"Don't talk." He stood there, trapping me, staring at me for a few seconds, before dipping his head and kissing me!
I was too shocked to move. When my brain had registered what was happening, I pushed him away, but gently, as I didn't want to hurt him.
"I can't keep this from Izzy, you know." I said, breaking the silence that hung all around us.
"I don't care about Izzy any more." He replied, simply, still staring at me.
Suddenly, I heard a crack beneath my feet. I looked down, and I noticed, there was something forcing its way up from the pavement! I stepped away impulsively, and Steve, deciding this was the time to be a macho man, positioned himself between me and whatever was coming from under the ground.
It was a hand. Attached to a body. A decaying body, that brought with it a musty smell. Steve turned his head halfway round and muttered, "Run," but I couldn't leave him there, so I grabbed his wrist and pulled him with me. We weren't far from home, so we could still make it!
At first Steve was trying to stay to fight the being, but I was much stronger than him. Eventually his resistance to my pulling stopped altogether, so I looked round to check on Steve, but I was met by a grotesque sight - I was clutching to Steve's forearm. The rest of Steve was gone.
