Christmas is a time for parties, and theSprout is no exception. Consider this your invitation to theSprout Christmas Party!

On Thursday the 16th of December will be the final Sprout meeting of the year in Grassroots, during which the big issue will be the Sproutzine 3. The meeting will be at 6.30pm, after which a truly festive feast of fun will commence at around 7.30.

What can you expect from theSprout Christmas party?

Comedy! Some theatrical improvisation from Ludus Ludius, who specialise in comedic craziness.

Music! Please comment below to contribute some good tunes (and don't feel that you have to request Christmas songs!) and we'll whack them on our playlist, as well as some live music from anybody who wants to bring along an instrument and impress!

Food and drink! Mince pies and mulled wine (non-alcoholic!) and more party foods than you can shake a yule log at. Please comment below to request your favourite snack/ Christmas food.

Prizes! A Top of the Pops style run-down of the best articles of the year, and a world first (probably): SPRINGO (Sprout Bingo).

Win a Blackberry! Orange Rockcorps will be there collecting your volunteering stories. More details here.

So for the most fun that can be had in Cardiff at Christmas (or at 7.30pm on the 16th December) head to theSprout Christmas party. See you there!

Finally our friends at Grassroots would like to invite all of their clients to their Christmas lunch earlier that day, at 2.00pm, so if you use Grassroots and fancy going along give them a call on 02920 231700.

Surely Fairytale of New York is the best xmas song?! Though this is also good. Sam, do you still want song suggestions on here or is the Spotify list going to be added to directly? I don;t have Spotify anyway...

Both! As it stands we'll have Spotify on the night, but if you don't have it and don't want to download it, then post songs here and I'll add them. Post youtube URLs too and we'll embed the videos.

I'll stick the link on to the playlist in a bit.

FYI - For the past couple of years BBC Radio 1 has bleeped parts of Fairytale of New York while Radio 2 has played it in full. Ergo Radio 2 is more rock and/or roll than Radio 1.

Grassroots is on Charles Street, the one that runs from M&S and Burger King on Queen Street down towards the CIA, Cineworld and the job centre.

Right, this Spotify thing isn't gonna work apparently, something to do with internet connections blah blah blah, so we'll do it on iTunes.

Whack your songtitles up here and I'll try and download them (legally, natch). Oh hey why don't you email me the mp3s / send me links - sam@thesprout.co.uk

Or bring CDs on the night, whatevs.
