Violent Crime

Have you been a victim of violent crime or know someone who has?

Last Thursday the singer of a local band was randomly attacked by two teenage boys as he sat on a bench in Cathays.

There doesn't appear to have been a motive as to why it happened but he now faces the prospect of losing his sight in one eye. Do you think we've got a bad situation in Cardiff, or are incidents like this a "one-off"?

Do you feel safe when you are out and about? Do the media make things sound worse or better than they actually are?

Is violence increasing amongst young people both on the streets and in your relationships?

Grassroots are holding an event this Wednesday to find out what YOU think. Joined by a panel of guest speakers the debate is open to any young person to come along and share their views.

It's an opportunity to say it like it is, whether you've been the violent one, the victim or you just have an opinion you'd like to share.

The debate starts at 6pm with local bands playing afterwards. It's part of a timetable of activities around the subject throughout the day - check out the events calendar to see what else you could get involved in.
