Volunteering In Cardiff
Voluntary Community Service have recently moved premises. They are now situated on the Ground Floor of Brunel House which is based on Fitzalan Road, Cardiff, just a two minute walk from Queen Street Train Station. Voluntary Community Service, more often referred to as VCS, is the Volunteer Centre for the county of Cardiff. They exist to encourage volunteering in Cardiff, provide information to volunteers, support volunteers and promote good-practice to volunteer-involving organisations.
With over 500 opportunities and around 400 charities registered with VCS there are plenty of opportunities to choose from. Volunteering opportunities range from Office, Youth Work, Environment, Fundraising, Community and much more! VCS believes that everybody has something to offer and is able to become a valued volunteer. Most charities are looking for a couple of hours of your time per week whether that's in the daytime or in the evening and weekends.
VCS are open to the public from Monday-Friday between 10am-4pm (last admission 3.30pm), no appointment is needed. An adviser will give you free, impartial advice about volunteering in your local community and help you on your way to becoming a volunteer.

I used the VCS earlier this year and found them to be really friendly and helpful. In fact, I owe them thanks for getting me to where I volunteer now!
Definitely a thumbs up for them :)
