When Santa pops down your chimney later today you might want to ask him if you can borrow his sleigh as public transport shuts up shop for the festive season.

Now theSprout wishes everyone a merry old Christmas but why does the rail network have to shutdown on Boxing Day?

With Cardiff City playing Plymouth Argyle at home and of course the first wave of the sales, the need for efficient public transport will be great.

The buses are running a restricted service operating between 10:00 and 5:30, but at least they’re running.

Every year, we have the seasonal Don’t Drink & Drive campaigns; surely efficient public transport at this time of year has to be central to a successful operation?

And if you’re heading out tonight, Cardiff Bus is halting at around 6.30pm while Arriva Trains Wales will continue until about 9pm. Pretty much the same for New Year’s Eve, save for the free Admiral Insurance Buses running from about 7.30pm 'til well late.

Got something to say?
