School Health Nursing Service
Each Local Authority School has a Named School Nurse. They can help support pupils, parents and education staff on a wide range of health topics from personal health needs to general health and lifestyle issues. They are not based in school but should be available regularly so pupils can meet with them. Their aim is to safeguard and promote the health of pupils and help them make informed choices regarding healthy lifestyle
School Health Nurse is also happy to liaise with parents/carers and education colleagues. The General Practitioner (Family Doctor) at your local surgery can also be contacted for health advice and support.
