The Sprout

TheSprout is a fully interactive website that encourages creativity and direct involvement while providing information on activities and support services available to young people in Cardiff aged 11-25.

It is for all young people regardless of religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or ethnicity. It is youth led and has been developed, branded and designed with young people to be an attractive portal.

TheSprout facilitates young peoples' 10 entitlements, the rights and responsibilities of young people as set out by the Welsh Assembly Government and is in line with the European Youth Information Charter in setting guidelines for information services to young people across the continent.

The site has been live and operational since October 2007 with the numbers of registered users increasing dramatically every month. The website offers young people the opportunity to upload their own content and news features, and has an Editorial Group responsible for writing, reporting, photographing, designing, promoting and anything else they feel should be included. They also make decisions on content and technical changes.
