"Slaving over a PC and MacBook somewhere in a box room in north Cardiff..."

I've been the editor of theSprout since June 2008. Prior to that I was the editor of Buzz magazine, which I still write for freelance as clubs editor. Before that, I graduated from the University of Glamorgan with First Class Honours in Creative & Professional Writing. I've also written for Cardiff Living, The Big Issue Cymru, Mixmag, Ministry and The Cheek.

I grew up in Llanedeyrn and used to play guitar and 'sing' and progressed through a metal band (Angel Dust), punk band (The Sewer Youth), grunge band (Sweet Sick), and finally hardcore band Disco Assassins (myspace.com/discoassassinsuk). DA gigged with various bands around south Wales including Pontypridd's Fleshbind, who went on to become Lostprophets. Bassist Chris from DA is also doing well as one third of the very good outfit, Taint. Buy their music and see them live.

I've worked in some soul-destroying jobs (selling shoes / smelly candles / luggage, barman, lackey @ Evans Halshaw, care worker with the severely disabled) and some great ones (holiday rep in Turkey, lifeguard @ Eastern LC, editor, anything that's paid me as a writer, care worker with young people).

I'm working on a novel which may or may not ever get finished, based on my experiences as a hard-sell advertising salesman in Sydney. A chapter was published in Blue Tattoo magazine in November 2008. My short story/play, Anatomy of a Tree Hugger was performed at the Scriptslam heats at Sherman Cymru in February 2009, but didn't get through to the final.

I'm also going to be a dadda for the first time in October. Nurse! Pampers and old-school Gripe Water!
