The Cardiff Children And Young People’s Partnership have just published the Children And Young People’s Plan 2008-11, which introduces a new approach to joint working involving children and young people, their families or carers and those organisations that work with them.
The Partnership brings together Cardiff City Council, the
local Health Service, children’s charities and community and voluntary
groups, with the aim of improving services and outcomes for the
children and young people of Cardiff. Their objective: "To make sure all children and young people access their rights and entitlements and benefit from the opportunities Cardiff has to offer."
The Plan contains 21 priorities for action designed to achieve this vision. The priorities have been produced with the help of Partnership groups focusing on five themes:
- Health, Wellbeing & Social Care
- Leisure, Play and Culture
- Nurturing Families and Communities
- Participation and Involvement
- Purposeful Learning
The development of the Plan has been informed by children and young people at various stages, including a 12 week consultation involving local agencies and communities.
A Young Persons Guide To The Plan, the Plan itself and other related documents are available on the IFANC website - www.ifanc.org.uk
